Moral Moments available for September 2000

Moral Moments are very short essays about ethical situations and issues in everyday life. Averaging 700 words in length, they are modeled on op-ed articles in the daily newspaper; in fact, some of them have been published as op-eds in the New Haven Register, the Hartford Courant, and elsewhere. However, they differ from the typical op-ed in being decidedly philosophical, even theoretical, in their approach. Nonetheless, their style and subject matter make them always accessible to general readers.

The author, Joel Marks, professor of philosophy at the University of New Haven, has now put together a collection of some of his Moral Moments in a book of the same name, published by the University Press of America.
